I'm posting my set-up sheet for my Hobbywing XR10 PRO G2 which I've been using recently at the Cotswold Model Car Club! This in combination with the well-proven G3 4.5T motor, in which I use the supplied rotor (12.3mm). The ESC setting itself is very similar to what I run on other big outdoor tracks, for example, Hudy Arena. This setting is in fact almost identical to my settings from the ETS final last year. The only differences are:

  • 36 degrees of turbo, instead of 38, to accommodate for the shorter straightaway.
  • 35 degrees of endbell timing, instead of 37.5, to make the overall power band a little smoother.
  • 24 deg. of turbo increase rate, instead of 18, to make the car reach its top speed sooner (mainly with the front straight in mind at CMCC).
The relatively mild turbo decrease rate of 24 deg can be attributed to the track layout as well, since both CMCC and Hudy Arena has a long straight followed by a kink, and a small sweeper afterwards. Having too strong of a turbo decrease will make the car shift too much weight to the front wheels, as soon as you lift, for coming into the kink, and this can upset the car too much, making it loose rear traction. This will make it difficult to hit your marks lap after lap, whereas the milder setting is more forgiving in this case.

I use a HUDY 30mm motor fan in front of my motor, part number 293110.
