So, this weekend was my probably my first more serious attempt at racing Formula 1, with that being the only class I attended. Competition was really hard, even though we were few cars and drivers, since formula is a brand new class in norway. After all the fun at mountain model camp, I had rebuilt my car with the aluminium chassis, transverse battery and widened the front quite a lot by using 5x10x3 bearings in the outside of the front wheel. Still it's very narrow.

So, already from the get go, I had the fastest car, and it was very good. Some tendencies of traction rolling in high speed though.

I had the battery full forwards. Putting the battery backwards just made it unstable as hell, which was expected, but I had to try.

Widened it in the rear, which basically had the same effect. More unpredictable.

Went from almost empty 50k to fresh 60k in the side damper, this helped a lot. Built dual dampers, but ruined the plate to fit them to, so didn't get to try.

Long center shock: Built it that way. I think I run three hole, 45wt, and I run a TM 2.6 linear spring. A guide to what does what in regards to stiff/soft/droop would be nice, any thoughts?

Did the usual routine of 45-60 min additive in the rear, and half the tire in front for 10 mins. To be honest, with the Volante, I think it's too much, but I will have to test more.

It feels like I put way to much load on the rear tire, which makes it unpredictable. It fades and starts to screech very quickly. I'm thinking that running more weight forwards and centered will help this, but I'd like to hear some thoughts! I'm a total noob in the pancar-game!!

So far I've run the Volantes for 30 runs, and they're still the same. Predictable performance and no drop off in laptimes. I definitely prefer them over Ride any day of the week, but then again, total noob here!
