After the 1st day of qualifying wrapped up, Japanese ace Akio Sobue is really starting to find his groove after 4 rounds sitting 2nd overall. Poised to be a contender here, Sobue is running a special prototype version of his CRC 1/12th scale car that he has had a lot success over the years. With two 2nds and a TQ run, look for Sobue to challenge for the World title later today.

Chassis – CRC Prototype
Motor – LRP X210 4.0T
ESC – LRP Flow
Battery – LRP 8100mAh
Tires – CRC Japan
Radio/Servo – Sanwa
Body – Protoform AMR

Option parts:The prototype for the 2016 Worlds edition is shorter in wheelbase from the standard car with a new floating servo mount to give the car a better flex characteristic. Also different from the standard production car is that the Worlds prototype has a different battery position that moves the center of gravity more towards the front.

Remarks – Japanese race Akio Sobue is running a new CRC prototype chassis here in China, which he previously ran at the Japanese Nationals. Sporting new chassis, motor mount and servo mount he has had to change his setup from what he normally runs for the lower traction including a front camber and centre shock change. Like many here, he is suffering with his car in the last minutes of the run and will go out with larger tires, he is also changing his front additive application time from 1 minute to 10 to get more traction.
