Ran the HB C12 Mark-2 for 3 rounds on Sat with Purple/Grey foams and full addy front and rear. To much front end so dialled out dual rate. Round 4 & final switched to Audi R10. Car was poooooooo all day yet was keeping pace with those of similar ability as raced against at the SSO R3. Car was just to iffy. Didn’t know Roger M was spotting for me and trying to help. Thanks Roger. Listend to him & PDW but got no were with car.

Had a sleepless night thinking about setup.

Woke up Sunday and had an idea. Choose to pull the front and apart and clean the king pins etc. One was a little stiffer than the other. Also upper A arm on left side had stopped falling under it’s own weight (previous contact with wall may have caused this). Reamed out the steering blocks that I hadn’t done before.

Trimmed the car back up on carpet, no shell or addy. At this point I noticed how it wanted to steer without addy on purple/grey foams. So for the open practice heat went out on purple/greys with Audi R10. Race control posted lap times from this and I was pleasantly surprised to find I turned a lap 0.1s slower than I had managed on Saturday.

Round 1

NO ADDY Purple/Greys.
Audi R10, used from here on in.
Increased the dual rate on the run to the start line
Noticed lack of grip on rears when leaving on the start tone. As you don’t need to nail from the start tone wasn’t an issue as your time only start’s from crossing the loop.
Ran OK but had to wait 3 to 4 laps before car came to me. On same pace as Saturday.

Front end clean & strip would seem to have sorted Saturday’s problems.

Round 2

NO ADDY Lilac/Pinks
Decreased dual rate due to more steering on run to line
Getting very close to Saturdays times
Still had to wait for front to come in. Rear OK

Round 3

Same as round 2 using the same foams

Round 4

NO ADDY, used Double Pink/Yellows
Recorded quickest time of my weekends racing
Q4 to make my 1st national A final, even it is only the Sport Modified Class

Final
NO ADDY, used Double Pink/Yellows, foams from R4
Finished 9th due to traffic issues. Got a good start and holding 3rd/4th until someone rejoined the track from there crash and all mayhem broke loose.
Recorded a sub 11s lap so happy with that

Roll on Crewe and Duo Carpet & Audi R10
