Team Associated Factory Team Driver Rick Hohwart is at the ActivRC Grand Prix driving his TC7.1 and set the fastest qualifier earning him TQ at the event. According to Rick, the car is mostly stock with couple of small changes brought about from testing. Highlights include a direct wired fan on his speed control and the one blowing on the motor. He explained that he only did this in anticipation for running at places where it gets really hot and not really necessary at this event where it is much cooler. It doesn't really affect much but both run when he plugs in his battery. The rear diff has 10k silicone oil in it with a spool up front. His shocks include SMJ springs with PSD shock inserts. He has done extensive testing with the inserts and almost always runs them at outdoor situations since he's found they have more grip. He found that even when the car felt better with holed pistons, lap times always favored the PSD inserts with 27.5W AE oil all around. He also had to make a 1.2mm roll bar up front from a rear bar since there isn't one available. He admits the car is almost all stock including the chassis. His Reedy Blackbox 510R does have 20 degrees of Turbo programmed in to it. He generally uses the same gear ratio and timing, but adjusts Turbo according to the track.
